The airport itself is quite nice and new, with plenty of restaurants and shops to keep you occupied. There are also some decent duty free options but it could be better. The wifi is good and the bathrooms are clean but it would be nice if there were more. Overall it is a great airport and I hope that they can improve their processes and make things a bit smoother.

In a recent incident at the airport, supporters of former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif clashed with police as they tried to get inside the terminal to greet him upon his arrival from London. The incident resulted in the deployment of security forces and the firing of tear gas shells. Several people were injured. The clashes were triggered after the authorities prevented Nawaz from getting off his flight because his name had been added to a list of people not allowed to travel internationally.

All passengers arriving at the airport will go through immigration and customs checkpoints before they are allowed to leave the terminal building. You will be asked to present your valid tickets and passports for domestic and international flights respectively. Make sure you have enough time to clear these checkpoints as they can take some time. It is recommended to check with your airline for baggage guidelines. The baggage allowance depends on your fare type and destination.
